Hair Growth Scams Are Everywhere, Be Careful!

By |December 22nd, 2016|

Losing your hair is scary, and once it starts to leave you’ll probably be crying to have it back. This is why we want to work hard to help you get your hair back; it’s just human nature. Other people, though, take your totally understandable urgency to get your hair back and cash in on it with scam products. Here’s a few supposed hair growth products to avoid at all costs so that you can save your money, and your hair.
Herbal Supplements for Hair Growth

Herbal supplements are always risky. They’re filled with scams, and can be really difficult for any sort of governing body to regulate. There are definitely some supplements that can improve the quality of your hair. This means they can make your hair thicker, and healthier looking than it would be before you used the product. But this is just a way to improve what’s already there; it’s not a way to grow back what you’ve lost. This is also the best possible outcome, and most supplements won’t do anything, Only supplements like minoxidil and our natural liquid treatments can prevent you from losing more hair, and take back what has already left. Basically, don’t waste your time and money on things that seem too good to be true. They probably are.
Hair Loss Brushes for Hair Growth

One way to improve your blood circulation is by stimulating hair follicles. Better blood flow means you can start growing your hair back. So, it’s important to make this happen. One important way is through platelet rich plasma therapy, which we can provide you with. Still, there are a ton of different products out there that say they’ll stimulate your hair follicles, all [...]

Hair Restoration Now, With Laser Therapy

By |July 27th, 2016|

A few weeks ago, we put together a list of a few athletes and actors who have used hair restoration techniques to stay in the game. There are a bunch of ways to do this, and we already told you about Platelet Rich Plasma therapy.

Today, we’re going to explain laser therapy to you. We want to make it as easy as possible to get your hair back, so it’s important for us that you find the best restoration method for you!
How Laser Therapy Hair Restoration Works
Lasers can definitely get rid of body hair, but they can also be used to grow back the hair on your head that you thought was gone forever. Basically, we use low-level lasers and shine them over you head to help grow hair back, whereas when we want to take it away, we use high powered lasers.

These lasers increase the blood flow in your head, which is needed to help regrow your hair (not air flow, which is one of the hair loss myths we debunked last week.) The lasers also stimulate your hair cells, causing them to absorb light, start protein synthesis, and then start working to replace your hair.

Your hair will come back in and be thicker than ever before in no time.

The Benefits of Laser Therapy Hair Restoration
This may sound complicated, but we promise that it’s really simple on your end. All you have to do is come into our office a few times. You sit as we shine the light on your head, which doesn’t hurt at all. There’s no surgery, or anything like that, so you can come in and out of that procedure with no problem at all. The best [...]

Three Hair Loss Myths You Don’t Need to Worry About

By |July 21st, 2016|

Hair loss is a constant source of dread for many of us, and actually going through it can be terrifying. There’s not much you can do to hide a mass flight of hair from head, but still, it’s not as bad as it seems. This is because there aren’t as many things you do that can cause you to lose hair as you might think. In fact, most of the things that supposedly cause you to lose your hair are actually not true. Here’s three hair loss myths to ease your mind a little (and even if it doesn’t, don’t worry, because stress won’t make your hair fall out anyways.)
Wearing Hats Causes Hair Loss

This myth is everywhere. The idea is that if you wear a hat for too long, you’ll lose hair because the lack of air will kill hair follicles. This is actually not true, as there’s currently no evidence suggesting that wearing a hat will cause you to experience hair loss any earlier than it would have already happened. This point is important, because you’re probably thinking of someone who always wears hats and ended up losing their hair pretty young. The fact is, they’ve been wearing a hat to cover the hair loss; the hat didn’t cause it.
Hair Loss Comes From Your Mother’s Side

Many people say that the future of the hair on your head is determined by your mother’s father. This isn’t exactly true (which means you may be letting out a sigh of relief now, or second guessing the hairstyle you hoped to have as a distinguished senior.) Hair expert Dr. Alan Bauman says that there are over 200 genes responsible for hair growth, and not all [...]

Hair Restoration Now, With PRP Therapy

By |June 23rd, 2016|

A couple weeks ago, we took a step to help shatter the stigma around hair restoration techniques by giving you a list of a few athletes and actors who have stayed on their A-game with these methods. Now, we want to take you a step further by telling you more about one of the many techniques we offer that will help you get your hair back. We don’t want this process to be complicated. After all, wouldn’t it be a shame to lose hair while trying to get it back?

Well, don’t worry about that. With Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy you’ll have your hair back in no time. Here’s how it works.
Step 1: Hair Analysis
Contact us at Hairfree Laser Skin Clinics and schedule a free microscopic analysis with one of our trusted doctors. This method will vary on a client to client basis, but we’ve seen extremely impressive results for most of our patients. The first step is the hardest, and everything from here on out will be a breeze.
Step 2: Hair Rejuvenation
Now you’ve scheduled a time for the treatment. When you come in, we will take some of your blood and put it in a fancy machine called a centrifuge, where it will sit for just 15 minutes. This will isolate the platelets in your blood, and multiply them. This is important because that’s the stuff that will get your hair back.

Step 3: Hair Restoration
Once we’ve isolated the platelets, we will cover your head with anesthesia. This may sound a little scary, but you won’t feel a thing in the care of our trusted professionals. Once that’s done, we will take the platelets, and inject them into your head. This [...]

Hair Transplants Keep Actors And Athletes On Their A-Game

By |June 9th, 2016|

Sometimes it seems like celebrities are a whole different species than us average people. We see them on the TV, in magazines and in movies, and they almost always look perfect (with a few exceptions, a la Britney Spears’ infamous head shave.) The truth is, though, that celebrities deal with the same body and aesthetic problems as the rest of us. The only difference is they have more means to solve these problems. Luckily, you’ve already made your way to Hairfree Laser Skin Clinics, which means you’re only a few clicks away from the services, like hair transplants, that make celebrities look as good as they do.

The Rise of Hair Transplants

One of our more popular services, and for good reason, is hair transplants. A recent study from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery shows that since 2012 in the United States, there has been a 27 percent increase in hair transplants, with over $2.5 billion being spent to grow back luscious locks each year. Men are responsible for 80 percent of this increase, proving that there’s nothing wrong with getting a little help to keep up your A-game.

If you’re not convinced, here’s a few actors and athletes who likely have had hair transplants. Their transformations are proof that looking good takes hard work for any of us. Fortunately, we’re here to help.

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey was losing his hair in 1999. He decided to take the steps needed to grow it back, and by 2005 he was voted the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. I can’t imagine him taking home that prize without his full head of hair.

3 important things not to do when experiencing hair loss!

By |May 20th, 2016|

If you’re worried about losing your hair, well, join the club. You’re among millions of men and women who, for differing reasons, are experiencing continuous hair loss in Toronto year after year. Science has pointed out to us several possible treatments for this headache, but many who’re losing their hair are still making old mistakes that only worsen their condition. Instead of consulting experts who can help them craft a personal plan toward hair restoration, many people would rather employ unscientific, DIY methods that aren’t based on sound information. Or, they’re simply uninformed and continue to do things to their hair or scalp that a person experiencing hair loss shouldn’t do. Here are some of the things that you should avoid if you want to stop losing your hair.
Drying your hair too much

Working a dry towel through your hair every day, or using an electric dryer to get rid of hair moisture can often damage your hair follicles. This is especially true for electric dryers, which often takes away the moisture too quickly from your follicles, making them much too brittle. It’s better to leave your follicles more moist when drying, by using a towel to gently pat down the hair. Healthy follicles are the basis for strong hair that stays in place. Anything that weakens the follicles’ stability will end up contributing to future hair loss. Here at Hairfree Laser Clinics, we use the most cutting edge methods to restore unhealthy or even dead hair follicles. One such way is our Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, which is a state-of-the-art method that uses a compound derived from the patient’s own blood to stimulate hair follicle growth.
